Easy job for police as driver caught after getting stuck in the snow near Bakewell

A driver without a license or insurance was caught by Derbyshire Police as they “waited for a mate” to arrive to tow them out of the snow near Bakewell last night (February 3).

Police found the Mercedes stuck in the emergency run off area by the side of the A6 at Taddington.

After checking officers found that the driver had no license or insurance.

The driver was arrested and police said they ‘saved them the hassle’ of needing to be towed out by seizing the car.

The dirver said they were waiting for a mate to come and tow them out.
