Trespassers damaged a metal gate and a window after breaking into the grounds of a Fairfield school over the Easter holiday.

Staff at Fairfield Infant and Nursery School, Bench Road, noticed that the window of a classroom had been shattered. They also found that a metal gate at the entrance to the school had been lifted off its hinges. The offenders broke into the grounds at some point between 3pm on Friday, April 5 and 8am on Monday, April 15.

Police do not believe the offenders gained entry to any of the school buildings but are appealing for witnesses who may have seen trespassers in the grounds to call them on 101.
