Couple fined after travelling 200 miles from London to camp at Mam Tor

A couple who travelled 200 miles from South London to Derbyshire to camp overnight with their child have been fined by police.

Hope Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team said they found the couple with a child in Mam Tor car park on Saturday night.

In a tweet the team said: “(They) stated they had come to camp for the night. What made things worse was they had made the 200 mile trip from South London.

“They were sent on their way that night along with a £200 fine each.”
