Coronavirus: Derbyshire police reveal how many fines they have issued to lockdown rule-breakers

Officers in the county issued 128 fines between March 27 and April 27, according to figures released by the National Police Chiefs’ Council.

During the one-month period, police in England and Wales issued a total of 8,877 fixed penalty notices.
Police can issue an initial £60 fixed penalty, which is lowered to £30 if paid within two weeks, before issuing £120 fixed penalties for second-time offenders – a fee which is doubled on each further repeat offence.
