Tackling car crime in Fairfield is a top priority for police, following concerns from residents.
Criminal damage to cars and thefts from motor vehicles were among the issues raised at a meeting of the Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team on Thursday.
In recent weeks, drivers have reported incidents of criminal damage to cars and theft from vehicles, mainly in the Kings Road and Windsor Road areas.
After making it their neighbourhood policing priority, the safer neighbourhood team will be boosting patrols in the area and giving out crime prevention advice to motorists living or parking nearby.
PC Steve Blore said: “We also want people to report any suspicious activity to us straight away so we can bring the criminals responsible to justice.”
