Cigarettes stolen from Chapel-en-le-Frith shop

Police are appealing for witnesses after a large quantity of cigarettes was taken during a break-in at a shop in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Three offenders smashed a door to get into the Co-operative store in Eccles Road at about 1.55am this morning (Tuesday).

Two of the thieves went into the shop and loaded a large number of cigarette packets into an industrial bag before leaving.

One of the offenders who went into the store was believed to be a man and was described as white, of medium build and wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers. He also had a scarf over his face.

The second, also a man, was of medium build and wore a black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Did you see a vehicle or people acting suspiciously in the area in the early hours of the morning?
