CCTV footage released of men wanted in connection with Derbyshire dog thefts

Police are appealing for Derbyshire residents to come forward and help identify three people pictured in CCTV footage near to a property where eight dogs were stolen last week.

Derbyshire Constabulary were alerted that eight dachshunds had been stolen from a home in Swadlincote at around 11.30pm to midnight on February 10.

The pedigree show dogs, of which three were male and five female, are worth a substantial amount of money and were are all miniature wire-haired dachshunds.

In the CCTV video released by police, three people are seen walking in the Burton Road area of Acresford at a similar time.

It comes after the force confirmed that 30 dogs had been stolen across the county last year.

Derbyshire Police have encouraged pet owners to remain vigilant and to keep their dogs secure to avoid further thefts.

Officers are urging anyone who recognises the trio in the footage to come forward and contact them by calling 101 and quoting reference number 21*084142.
