Cash machine stolen in Disley ram raid

A FREESTANDING cash machine was stolen during a ram raid at a Disley supermarket.

Detectives have been conducting house to house enquiries following the incident at the Co-op on Market Street, at 2.54am on Thursday (July 21).

Two stolen vehicles, a turquoise Toyota Fourunner and a blue Suzuki panel van, are believed to have been used to ram into the wall of the shop. The vehicles headed off towards Marple, with the Toyota being found abandoned on Jackson Edge Road with front end damage.

Detective Inspector Iain Goodwin, of Cheshire Constabulary, said: “Anyone in the area at the time will have been alerted by the sound of the raid. We would urge anyone who may have seen the offence taking place, or who saw the vehicles matching the description given, to contact police.”
