The Safer Neighbourhood Team say the incidents of people going off road is happening regulalry at the Hoffman Quarry and pathways which boarder it, also down towards Buxton Raceway.

A force spokesperson said: “It may not seem like the crime of the century and it is a pass time enjoyed by many, however using vehicles in an anti social manner is of great concern to us and residents alike. It is not and will not be accepted that the "few" who like to bend the rules for their own gain put at risk many residents who we have spoken to.

“Unfortunately on this occasion, despite getting within grabbing distance I am not as fast as I used to be and the rogues have made their escape.

“However, in a effort going forward I will be utilising the Drone Unit, proactive patrols will be conducted in the area to identify vehicles that may be used. Over the past few weeks warning letters have gone out to some vehicles and I will be liaising with Councillors, the land owners and local businesses to see what assistance they may be able to give.”
