Bamford door-to-door sellers fined for having no licence
Police on duty in the village on January 7 stopped a man called Mark Pollard, who had a holdall full of cleaning products and a hawker’s licence on him, prosecutor John Cooper told High Peak Magistrates’ Court.
He said he didn’t have a valid pedlars certificate as he was unable to get one because he had an unspent conviction for drink-driving. He said he had four children at home to support and sold goods door-to-door to support his family.

Pollard, 35, of Thistledown Road, Nottingham, and Savage, of Edward Road, Nuthall, Nottingham, were not present in court.
Both were fined £145 and ordered to pay £35 costs and a £20 surcharge.
The goods will be forfeited and destroyed.
