Are you special?

An event is being held this week in New Mills for people interested in becoming a Special Constable.

There will be an information session at on Wednesday, October 5, between 5 and 7pm at New Mills police station, Hurst Lea Road.

Community Safety Inspector Shaun Woodcock said: “Volunteering as a Special Constable gives people the opportunity to learn new skills, working alongside regular officers to help keep our communities safe.”

You must be in good health, of good character and at least 18 years old to apply. Specials have the same powers as police officers and volunteer for a minimum of four hours a week.
