Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face at a bus stop in Buxton.

At around 2pm on Saturday October 3, the 45-year-old victim was stood by a bus stop on Harpur Hill Road when a vehicle pulled up alongside him.

Another man got out of the car and punched the victim in the face before driving off again.

Officers dealing with the case are looking to speak to a potential witness who may be able to assist in their enquiries. The woman was described as elderly and was stood opposite the bus stop on Harpur Hill Road.

Witnesses, or anyone with information about the incident, are asked to contact PC Patrick Shambrook on 101, quoting crime number 42752/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

• A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing minor injury and bailed pending further inquiries.
