Natural England is looking for local people to support their work at Derbyshire Dales National Nature Reserve (NNR) - home to some of the best wildlife, geology and landscape in the Peak District.
The team is seeking volunteers to become ‘Reserve Ambassadors’ who will work with Natural England to keep an eye on the reserve and its wildlife, engage with visitors and occasionally work as a group to undertake practical tasks or run events.
Kevin Bull, Senior Reserve Manager for Derbyshire Dales NNR will give a short presentation about the reserve, its management and the sort of work ambassadors could be involved in at two open meetings.
· For Lathkill Dale and Long Dale it will take place on Thursday September 13, at Youlgreave Village Hall
· For Cressbrook Dale, Monks Dale and Hay Dale it will take place on Thursday, September 20, in the function room of the George Hotel, Tideswell
Both meetings will run from 7pm to 9pm and tea or coffee will be provided.
Paul Maddox, Community Outreach Advisor for Derbyshire Dales NNR said: “We know there is a lot of interest from people keen to get involved at this special site. Kevin and I are really looking forward to working with them and arranging the next steps to put this positive action in place.”
The meeting is free and open to everyone, but to help accommodate numbers please contact Paul Maddox if you wish to attend, by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01629 810579 or 0750 097 4099.
