Seven volunteers from a Peak District village have set up a new Community First Response (CFR) scheme.

They have been trained by East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to attend 999 calls within a three mile radius of Cressbrook. EMAS’ Mary Spier, said: “CFR’s are an important part of our EMAS family. By living close to the people they are helping they are able to provide that vital initial response which really can make a difference between life and death for some patients.”
