Clock New Mills for Solar Schools

Transition New Mills are inviting people to take part in a project called Clock New Mills to help raise money for solar schools.

Participants are challenged to walk to 12 given viewpoints on the hills around New Mills, where they can clock (see) the town, and be sponsored for their efforts with the money raised going towards putting solar panels on the roof at New Mills School.

The viewpoints are set around New Mills like numerals on a clock face.

The challenge can be completed at any time before the clocks go back on October 27.

Prizes for the most money raised, most challenge walk and most quirky, fun or strange way of doing a walk will be given out, thanks to the generosity of local businesses Doc Greens, Simply Indian and New Mills AFC.

Particpants are asked to get sponsors for either each point clocked, or the whole challenge.

The 12 viewpoints are listed on the back of the sponsorship form, or can be found online at, where more details of the challenge are also available.
