A climber was airlifted to hospital yesterday (Sunday) after falling more than 20 feet on the Roaches.

The 24-year-old from Southampton, broke his ankle after falling from the boulder.

Buxton Mountain Rescue team were called to help West Midlands Ambulance Service, who provided pain relief to the climber before the mountain rescue team helped carry him to the air ambulance.

He was then taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment.
