We can't stop climate change, but we can prevent it getting much worse.
Derbyshire County Council unveiled its Climate and Carbon Reduction Manifesto this week and pledged it will do all it can to reduce its carbon footprint, cut waste, reduce emissions and improve the environment. But what are the things you can be doing at home to help? In conjunction with Friends of the Earth here are eight top suggestions.
1. Power up on plants
Scientists say cutting down on meat and dairy is the single biggest way to reduce your environmental impact. Search for local farm shops to get seasonal ingredients.
