DERBYSHIRE Police have launched a child car seat campaign.
The force, supported by other organisations which make up the Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership, is working with car accessory firm Halfords to offer drivers free child seat safety checks and money off a new seat.
Staff from the partnership will visit schools during peak school run hours to talk to parents about the laws surrounding seatbelts and child seat usage.
They will also hand out information sheets with a Halfords voucher for ten per cent discount off child car seats.
Roads policing officers will also take part in an action week in September, organised by the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) which will see widespread seatbelt enforcement.
The campaign follows from advice issued during the school summer holiday where drivers were urged to make sure children are correctly belted up.
