Cherry picker and lead stolen from Grindleford building site

A cherry picker and lead were among items stolen from a Peak District building site.

Police have launched an appeal after the Genie cherry picker were taken along with building materials and lead from the site at a property in Grindleford.

After entering the site, the crooks then forced through the door of the main house.

The incident took place overnight between 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 10, and 7am on Thursday, December 11.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activity to police to help to stop a crime from happening.

Officers are also encouraging people to be security conscious, especially in the run up to Christmas. Ensure that sheds, garages and outbuildings are properly secure and that valuable items are kept out of view from passers-by.

Finally, consider marking up tools with a property marking fluid such as Smart Water to help deter thieves and enable police to return any stolen items to you.
