Chapel-en-le-Frith residents have given the thumbs-up to a new planning blueprint.
A resounding 96 per cent of residents taking part in a referendum voted in favour of adopting the Chapel-en-le-Frith Neighbourhood Plan.
Prepared by Chapel Vision and Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council, the plan will shape the way the parish grows until 2028.
It has been developed with input from local residents through consultation events and questionnaires.
Voters taking part in Thursday’s referendum were asked the question: “Do you want High Peak Borough Council and the Peak District National Park Authority to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
A total of 2,123 voted in favour of a yes vote, with 95 voting in favour of a no vote.
Turnout on the day was 32.1 per cent.
