Cash surprise for cause championed by the people
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team members, Roger Bennett and Rob Wymer, were pleased to visit Waitrose supermarket in Buxton this week to receive a cheque for £563 from Community Matters organiser, Julie Atkinson.
Buxton MRT was one of three charities to share £1,000 of the Waitrose monthly donation to local good causes. The proportion of the share is decided by customers indicating their preference with tokens at the checkout. To receive such a large donation was a real surprise and an indication of how much the local community appreciates the team’s work.
