A campaign to help keep Chapel-en-le-Frith safe by reducing alcohol–related crime has been backed by all of the town’s licensees.
Chapel and Chinley Safer Neighbourhood Team has recruited Shoulder of Mutton, Rems bar, Royal Oak, The Dog Inn, Kings, Roebuck, The Old Pack Horse, New Inn and The Hanging Gate to take part in the Intoxicated campaign.
Intoxicated is aimed at reducing the level of alcohol-related crime by urging pub, club and bar staff, as well as off-licenses, shops and supermarkets, to be more vigilant when it comes to serving customers.
PCSO Karen Green said: “We’ve had a fantastic response from the licensees and their staff, which is really encouraging.
“It’s all about keeping the community safe and making sure people can go out and have a drink and know that they’re safe.”
Staff will be wearing Intoxicated t–shirts on specific dates, while posters and bar runners will tell customers about the campaign. Licensees who want to learn more can email Bdiv.firstname.lastname@example.org
