Buxton's Gin Jamboree will have 100 varieties to chose from

From Bombay to London the travelling Gin Jamboree is heading to Buxton bringing with it more than 100 gins to tickle the taste buds.

The one day event will be whetting the appetite of gin coinsurers on Friday, April 7 in Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens.

A spokesman for the jamboree said: “There will be hundreds of gin lovers united under one roof.”

Andrew Wilson Wines had been organising gin tastings since 2008 unaware that the current gin craze was just around the corner.

In 2013 this morphed into the Gin Jamboree and has gone from strength to strength but prides itself on being different from other gin festivals.

The jamboree spokesman said: “Our own talented team attend all out events which only take place at the finest venues like the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton.

“We have a saying that there is a gin out there for everyone and that’s what we want you to find.

“Nowadays people like lots of different gins and there is nothing more frustrating that not being able to find your new favourite.”

At the jamboree gin-lovers can expect cocktails or the mixologists to put together gins with different mixers and garnishes than you would normally have to open your sense a world of possibilities.

“Expect to find craft distillers and expert bartenders mixing amongst the crowds, offering samples and debating why their gin or mix or is so special.

Included in the ticket price is an unbranded glass snacks and Louisiana-style jambalaya supper and music.
