Vegetarians have rededicated a tree of compassion in the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.
The walnut tree was originally planted during the millennium celebrations in recognition of the work and achievements of the Vegetarian Society. While the tree flourished, the post carrying the plaque had rotted badly.
A small group of vegetarians, representing the 1,000 in Buxton who don’t eat meat or fish, gathered to unveil the re-sited plaque.
Terry Newholm is pictured unveiling the plaque.
