Severn Trent is preparing to embark on a £7m upgrade of its water pipes in Buxton - with the first phase of work expected to be completed by the end of spring 2018.
The work to upgrade 30 miles of pipes will start on Monday, November 20 at the junctions of Heath Grove and Sherwood Road, where sections of road will be closed.
Mike Holder, from Severn Trent, said: “The pipes in the area aren’t getting any younger, so we need to replace them with brand new ones so we can reduce the chances of them bursting.
“The last thing we want is for our customers to turn on the tap and find they have no water, as this can cause a massive inconvenience to anyone’s day – so this work will bring huge benefits as we’re putting in pipes that will last for decades.”
To explain the scheme in greater detail, the project team will be at the Pavilion Gardens, on St John’s Road on Tuesday December 12, between 3pm and 7pm.
Severn Trent say they will be happy to answer any questions at the event, and address any concerns people may have.
