We are encouraging Buxton residents to boost their security following burglaries in the town.
This follows reports of break-ins at homes and garages over the last week in Buxton, including on Green Lane and Thornwood Court.
The most recent burglary took place on Tuesday, March 21 at a property on Dovedale Crescent, Buxton. Sometime overnight thieves forced entry to a garage at the home and stole a quantity of alcohol, including spirits and champagne, from inside.
Offenders also attempted to gain entry to a property on London Road in Buxton in the early hours of Monday, March 20.
Following the incidents, officers from the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out increased, high-visibility patrols in the town and have also been visiting residents to offer crime prevention and security advice.
Derbyshire Constabulary said: "The team are encouraging residents in Buxton and Fairfield to take steps to boost their security to further protect their property from being targeted by thieves.
"This includes making sure that all windows and doors are properly locked before leaving your home unattended, especially with the warmer months approaching, and ensuring that any valuables, personal documents and car keys are left out of view from passers-by.
"Homeowners are also being advised to consider using timer switches or leaving a light on when not at home, and to also draw their curtains to prevent the prying eye of a thief.
