High Peak residents are being invited to a forum meeting about healthcare developments in the new year.
NHS North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting locals to contribute to a discussion about how health services can develop to meet the complex needs of an ageing population at a time when expectations are higher than ever and funding is struggling to keep pace with inflation.
A forum meeting will take place on Tuesday January 21 at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, from 5pm to 7pm when attendees will hear about plans to get health professionals from different organisations working more closely to care for patients in the community – keeping them out of hospital, maintaining their independence and saving money by reducing pressure on A & E; as well as what opportunities are being looked at to improve the outcomes for the wider population by making best use of the resources available.
Dr Debbie Austin, High Peak GP and member of the CCG’s governing body, said: “These stakeholder forums offer members of the public a golden opportunity to tell us what they think, and to hear about the plans we’re developing in the light of our public meetings and last round of forums.”
