The Bees’ have had a few matches this season winning both their home meetings one in the league against Eastbourne running out 51-39 victors and one in the trophy as they beat Stoke 52-38.

While away they have lost out in both meetings losing out to Birmingham 52-37 in a challenge fixture and then losing to Belle Vue 50-40 in Manchester.

The Bees’ have drafted in Belle Vue’s Tom Perry as a guest for the meeting to cover for the absence of Connor Mountain who is riding for Ipswich in the Championship at Newcastle.

Perry will be well supported by ex-Hitmen veteran Jon Armstrong who has been scoring well in recent meetings with Danny Phillips making a decent heat leader trio. Luke Harris and Luke Ruddick provide a solid second string for the Bees’ while Jamie Halder and former Hitmen rider Ryan MacDonald complete the Coventry septet.

The Hitmen have received some good news with David Wallinger returning to the side after falling at Belle Vue a few weeks back.

Hitmen team manager Joshua Moss said: “We’ve been given a real boost having David (Wallinger) back in the line-up especially as rider replacement hasn’t really worked for us and I’m sure it will give all the lads in the pits a lift.

“I’m hoping that David will continue where he left off as he was looking good and he can get amongst the points straight away.

“Coventry have a strong line-up and have a good record around here when they used to be Storm but I feel we can just edge this meeting on Sunday and finally get some points on the board.”
