A popular food market returns to Buxton later this week to begin its second full year of trading.
The Buxton Fine Food Market will be held on the last Friday of every month at the bottom of the Slopes from March 27.
The event was trialled by organiser Maxine Pearson at the end of 2013, who was later granted permission by High Peak Borough Council to stage a monthly event.
This year, the market will not only have the regulars attending such as stalls selling speciality bread, locally-produced honey products, scotch eggs and cheeses, but it has increased the hot food vendors and improved the seating area. Hot food will now include Indian street delicacies, authentic Spanish churros, a hog roast and fresh pizza.
Hot food will be available until late in to the evenings during the spring and summer months, especially during the town’s festival.
Ms Pearson said: “It’s lovely that we can run this market again from March to September and it’s now become part of the ‘make-up’ of the spa town of Buxton and a regular feature for locals and visitors.
“I’d like to pass on a big thank-you to everyone who has come along and supported us so far. Pop along to see the traders who often stick it out through wind, rain and shine to bring you their produce.”
