Buxton charity shop’s urgent plea for help

Buxton’s Mind charity shop has issued an urgent plea for donations as the cold weather continues.

Limited stock could impact on the fund-raising potential for the mental health charity.

Andrew Vale, from the Buxton shop, said: “Winter is a great time for the Mind shop in Buxton, as customers are keen for low-price, good quality seasonal items, however, this year we are running low on stock.

“By donating and shopping at Mind stores you are helping support the one in four people in the UK who experience a mental health problem each year.

“We therefore urge you to dig out any cold weather clothes, accessories or bric-a-brac items you can spare and drop them off to 54 Spring Gardens as soon as you can.”

The shop relies on local generosity for over 95 per cent of product donations, with every bag dropped off having a cash equivalent of £30 once converted to saleable stock.
