Little Charlie Stainer and his big sister Jasmine have raised a whopping £120.30 for an animal charity.

Buxton Community School pupil Jasmine, 12, baked cakes, Charlie, 7, sold his teddy bears and they also offered sweets and drinks for sale during a six-hour tuck shop outside their home in Harpur Hill, Buxton.

Charlie, a pupil at Harpur Hill Primary School, was spurred into the money-spinning initiative by a holiday at a Premier Inn where there was a tuck shop in reception raising money for a charity.

He exceeded his target of £15 for the Dogs Trust, which he initially set because his dog Rolo is 15 years old and has not been well.

Their mum Amy said: “We are extremely proud of Charlie and Jasmine for showing their own initiative and doing something that wasn’t for themselves especially during the summer holidays.”
