A Buxton estate agent is celebrating scooping a top national award.
Jon Mellor and Company Estate Agents was awarded the Best Single Office Midlands Gold Award at The Estate Agency of the Year Awards 2015, in association with The Sunday Times
Owner Jon, who set up the independent firm in Buxton in 2010, was thrilled at the award. It is the third time the firm, which has offices on Grove Parade, has scooped the prize.
Jon said: “We are delighted and proud to win again and I would personally like to thank the entire team for their hard work and dedication in achieving this prestigious award for the third consecutive year.”
More than 650 leading property professionals from across the UK attended the glittering ceremony at The Lancaster London Hotel recently, where the winners of the most highly regarded awards in the estate agency industry were revealed.
The winners were presented with their awards by international rugby star Matt Dawson, with newsreader Penny Smith acting as compere.
They were picked following a rigorous judging process by a panel of 20 industry experts who assessed initial entry submissions before conducting an extensive review of the entrants, which included more than 150 hours of telephone interviews and independent mystery shopping exercises.
The judging process was overseen by The Property Ombudsman Christopher Hamer, while Gerry Fitzjohn, of The Property Ombudsman, acted as arbiter. Now in its 13th year, the awards have become recognised as the most difficult to win.
