Business and community leaders have joined forces to set out their vision for the future of commerce in Buxton.

Vision Buxton’s Marketing Department is working with tourist board Visit Peak District & Derbyshire to create a 90 second promotional video, which will be available for use on all Buxton website from mid Autumn.

Vision Buxton’s Marketing Group is working on several projects to raise the profile of the town locally, regionally and nationally.

The video which will feature many aspects of the town is aimed at attracting visitors and investors to Buxton.

Liz Mackenzie, joint chairman of the marketing group commented: “There is a great deal of enthusiasm and support in the group and by working together and pooling expertise and resources we are developing great marketing and PR projects that will help raise the profile of the town.”

The marketing group includes 25 representatives from the town’s key organisations and businesses including the University, Crescent development, Pavilion Gardens, Opera House, festivals and main hotels.

It is also developing plans for a new Buxton logo to be used on websites and marketing material for the town and be available for use for free by Buxton businesses and organisations.

The group, which also produces the highly popular Town Guide and maintains the Visit Buxton website, is working with Visit Peak District & Derbyshire to bring national travel journalists to the area in order to review it.

Sally Potter, joint Chairman of the group with Liz, said: “We are also working on plans to promote Buxton at major UK tourism exhibitions and working with Voucher Cloud to promote special offers for residents and visitors.

“We welcome new members to the group and are keen to hear about ideas other businesses, organisations and residents have about promoting Buxton.”
