Initiative extended

HIGH PEAK Borough Council is extending its ‘Buy and Try’ scheme of offering first-time traders on its markets a ready erected stall, for a day, for just £10, until January 31, 2013.

Councillor Godfrey Claff said “Following the recent national ‘Love your Local Market’ fortnight promotion, we have now extended this scheme into the new year.

“This offer invites both traders who haven’t stood before in High Peak and first-timers looking to try their hand, to ‘Buy and Try’ and join us on the Borough’s markets for ten pounds”.

In light of Mary Portas’ December 2011 Review highlighting the declining state of the nation’s High Streets, the scheme is part of a long-term High Peak programme designed to meet these challenges and to help support and rejuvenate the Borough’s markets.

Applicants will need to supply their own mandatory Public Liability Insurance for the day. Stalls and dates are subject to availability and terms and conditions.
