Firms urged to help volunteers

Peak businesses are being urged to support local voluntary groups.

Derbyshire Dales Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), based in Bakewell, has launched a new website to encourage local businesses and professional people offer free support to voluntary groups for the benefit of local people.

The website is free to use and offers a great opportunity for firms to raise their profiles in the community.

By registering on the website, voluntary organisations can appeal for help such as advice or practical support and if businesses wish to respond there are simple tools to get the relationship going.

Neil Moulden, Chief Executive of Derbyshire Dales CVS said: “Being associated with a local community group offers great benefits to local business and in this difficult financial climate will raise awareness of and add value to a business and be recognised in the wider community.”
