COUNTRYFILE star John Craven paid a visit to a Dove Holes engineering firm during filming for a new BBC2 series exploring how parts of the UK’s heritage is at risk of disappearing.
The 15-part series ‘Britain at Risk’, due to be broadcast in Spring 2012, will be based on seven main aspects of Britain’s heritage that are under threat including landscape, wildlife/nature, architecture, crafts/artisans, food, travel and monuments.
Filming recently came to Buxton’s Crescent and then visited Leander Architectural, where co-host Craven was given a hands-on demonstration on how to mould and cast a sign.
“They came to us because we make heritage items,” explained Leander Architectural Managing Director Ted McAvoy.
“It was nice to meet John, he was a very amenable bloke.”
