Alternate’s Charles Salisbury impressed a panel of some of the UK’s most acclaimed hairdressers with his creative photographic entry in The L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy.
Now he is one of five young hairdressers from the North West who will compete in the regional final taking place next week.
Charles is delighted to get through. He said: “I sent the photos in to the judges for the North West and they pick five finalists from that.”
He will now put his hairdressing skills to the test live in front of a group of industry judges and demonstrate colouring and cutting ability in just 45 minutes through a number of technical tasks.
In total there are 35 live finalists across seven regions and at the Grand Final event on Monday, May 28, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, an elite seven will be announced.
The young colourists will become the L’Oréal Colour Academy 2012 and will go on to have a year’s worth of education and creative work working alongside some of the industry’s most artistic and accomplished hairdressers.
Judge Chris Williams, International Colour Director, said: “Making it through to the Young Colourist Live final is a tremendous achievement.”
