An entrepreneurial couple from Buxton are set to make a guest television appearance on the UK version of Storage Hunters.
Melissa Downhill and Mark Drabble run Tin Man Scrap and Derbyshire Reclamation, based in Harpur Hill.
Earlier this year, the couple were asked to take part in the show, which came from across the pond after huge success in the United States.
The premise of the entertainment show is that bidders compete against each other as they hunt for valuables that are hidden away in shipping and storage containers.
Melissa and Mark quickly wooed producers due to their ability to turn ‘trash into cash’ and earned a cameo on the TV show.
Melissa told the Advertiser: “Myself and Mark are two entrepreneurs really, who started off with just a few quid running a bit of a business from the garden shed.
“Five years later, we now have massive businesses.
“Mark runs the scrap yard and I run the reclamation yard which is located at Harpur Hill Business Park.
“So we already had the buying and selling experience.
“Because we have become very successful in what we do, the producers liked that and asked us to take part in the programme.
“We turn trash into cash and that’s what the programme is all about!
“The show is actually quite successful, and it is one of the highest-watched programmes on channel Dave.
“We travelled to Yeovil to bid on a few lockers to see if we could get ourselves a bargain and make some profit.
“We can’t tell you the outcome - I think it’s one that viewers will have to wait and see!”
Melissa and Mark are due to appear on the show next Tuesday (July 7).
The episode airs at 8pm on Dave.
