Businesses give festival support

Buxton Festival welcomed an audience of more than 40,000 to the town this summer, bringing an estimated £3 million to the area through visitor overnight stays, dining out, tourism and shopping.

Claire Rhodes, Buxton Festival’s Development Manager, said: “This success would not be possible without the support of a range of corporate partners, many local, who help the Festival in a number of ways. Their contributions are vital to our continued success.”

The Old Hall Hotel and Buxton Crescent Hotel and Thermal Spa Partnership, sponsor an opera production each year. 
The University of Derby Buxton has been the lead sponsor of the Festival’s Literary Series for years and helped the Festival host talks in various venues.

Barclays gave their support for the first time through its sponsorship of a high-profile literary talk by Michael Morpurgo and Joanna Lumley. Bookstore Brierlow Bar was again the Festival’s official bookseller, attending all literary events and book signings. 
Manchester Airports Group supported the Buxton Poetry Competition.

Local restaurants and hotels all played their part with No.6 The Square Tearooms, Simply Thai, East Lodge Country House Hotel, Nat’s Kitchen, The Palace Hotel, The Lee Wood Hotel, Columbine Restaurant and The Café @The Green Pavilion valued sponsors of the event. New sponsors in 2012 also included Tideswell School of Food and Buxton Brewery.
