Bakewell Show has jumped into action – a day earlier than usual.
Organisers are hosting a special equestrian event today (see video for a picture slideshow) with the official spectacle starting tomorrow and continuing on Thursday.
More than 60,000 fun-seeking revellers are expected to flock to this year’s show to enjoy an exciting mix of family-themed attractions and agricultural delights.
The main attraction promises to be Gullivers’ Carnival Spectacular, a Victoriana-style trick riding display presented by the Stampede Stunt Company.
And the much-loved traditional extravaganza – now in its 183rd year – will boast the usual animal contests, cookery demonstrations, horticultural exhibits, craft displays and vintage and classic cars.
Bakewell Show manager Janet Bailey said: “There really will be something for everybody.”
