Sustainable Hayfield are holding their Apple Day celebrations this weekend, with attractions lined up to suit all the family.
The free event is taking place at the village’s primary school on Saturday from noon to 4pm and will feature almost 40 attractions.
Cath Moss, chair of Sustainable Hayfield, said: “This year’s event will feature familiar favourites but with new activities too – for example an array of working craft demonstrations, from wood-turning through upcycled jewellery making to ‘plarning’ – making bags and artefacts from ‘knitting’ of plastic shopping bags and magazine wraps. It’s part of our interest in making best use of natural and recycled materials.”
As well as a range of apple-based activities, Apple Day will also include the annual village home produce, arts and crafts show and harvest festival.
