Police are appealing for information after a thief stole the takings from a Glossop charity shop.

The incident occurred at around 12.15pm on September 7 when a man entered the Age UK store on High Street West and made his way into the rear office before being disturbed by a shop assistant and volunteer.

As he left the premises, the shop assistant noticed that the charity shop takings and a purse containing cash and cards had been stolen.

The man was described as white, around 6ft tall, with shaven dark hair. He was of slim build and wore a blue coloured jacket.
