Appeal after a theft from New Mills farm

Power washes were stolen from a farm in New Mills and police are appealing for witnesses and are offering advice to keep equipment safe.

Thieves gained entry to a barn on farmland off Laneside Road, New Mills after using tools to cut the padlock.

Once inside, they searched the barn before stealing two power jet washes, including a new SIP 2500 PSI power washer in black.

The incident took place overnight between Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

Following the incident, police are appealing for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area on the night of the theft, or who may have been offered similar items for sale.

Officers from the New Mills and Hayfield Safer Neighbourhood Team are also reminding residents not to buy items from people that they do not know as they cannot be sure where the goods have originally come from. Anyone who purchases stolen goods could face prosecution.
