The council has come up with a new way of breathing a bit of life into Buxton’s market.
High Peak Borough Council is offering would be market stall holders the chance to trade for a day for the bargain price of a fiver.
Buxton Market has been in decline over the past few years and the authority is hoping the scheme will revitalise it.
Stalls will be available for only five pounds for one day to encourage entrepreneurs to try market trading in High Peak as a potential new career and support their local community at the same time.
The initiative is part of the national Love Your Local Market campaign, which is taking place between May 15 and 29, led by the National Association of British Market Authorities and backed by local and national government.
