Buxton Drama League is celebrated for its irreverent pantos, which regularly entertain audiences of all ages at the Burbage Institute in the middle of winter.

This year, however, they’ve decided to bring a touch of panto magic to the summertime, with their Buxton Fringe show, Theseus and the Maze of the Minotaur.

The show, written and directed by Robbie Carnegie, and based on his earlier pantomime, sets plucky young Theseus on a journey to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his, and avoid being thrown to the terrifying Minotaur.

With a cast of four (three of them, Maria Carnegie, Sally Shaw and Peter Stubbington no strangers to panto audiences) playing numerous roles, with loads of knockabout comedy and silly fun, the show is fun for all the family.

Theseus and the Maze of the Minotaur will be performed at Underground Venues on Saturday, July 16 and Saturday, July 23, at 12 noon. Tickets available from www.underthefringe.com/shows/theseus or at www.buxtonfringe.org.uk
