Derbyshire has a rich and storied history, and is home to some of the country’s most beautiful countryside – meaning unique attractions and landmarks can be found in every corner of the county.
We have compiled a list of some of the most unique places to visit across Derbyshire and the Peak District over the winter or festive season – which could not be mirrored in other parts of the country.

17. Explore a fairytale village at Osmaston

18. Sample the famous waters at a former Roman settlement

Repton is the perfect place for anyone looking to delve into Britain’s medieval history. It was once the capital of the kingdom of Mercia, and notable landmarks include St Wystan's Church - where visitors will find a unique 8th century crypt built as a mausoleum for Mercian royals. Photo: Google
