Showhomes are unveiled at The Spires

Barratt has recently unveiled three new showhomes at the development, all of which have been professionally designed by interior design agency AJM Contracts.

Jo Farrer, head of design at AJM Contracts, said: “The three showhomes at The Spires have very different feels and demonstrate that no matter what your personal taste or needs, you can design and style a home to suit you.

“The Norbury showhome is designed for a stylish, modern family. The overall colour palette is black, greys, silvers and mainly red and this is brought into the whole of the scheme with vases, cushions and various other accessories.

“I used red Chesterfield sofas in the lounge which create a dramatic look, with black glass coffee table, lamp and dining table to show the versatility of the lounge and dining area.

“The brief for the Washington showhome was to create a look reminiscent of a ‘New York loft apartment’. I used eclectic pieces sourced from many varied suppliers to achieve this look.

“We used a floor to ceiling smoked mirror to add the illusion of space, zebra wallpaper, and sumptuous chenille sofas to soften the look. I also added some fun pieces such as tapestry doggie cushions and sculptures to add a kooky twist.

“In the Barton we’ve created a strong look using white as the main colour throughout. By choosing white, the living space feels a lot bigger than a three- bedroom property and demonstrates that colour can have a big effect on the feel of the size of a home.

“The look was achieved by adding white gloss furniture, retro styles mixed with key designer pieces such as the chair and sculpture downstairs, the white snakeskin and metallic wallpapers, feathers and beautiful modern light fittings upstairs.

“We’re delighted with the end result of the three showhomes and I hope that they inspire visitors to The Spires with ideas for their own homes.”

The Spires is located on Derby Road on the edge of Chesterfield town centre.
