The concert at New Mills Arts Theatre on Saturday, May 21, is one of the final opportunities to hear a live performance of her seventh album, With The Dawn.

This album was the first which Bella wrote since being named British Folk Singer of the Year in 2014.

New songs written on Bella’s recent British Council residency in China will also be aired in Saturday’s concert.

Bella grew up in Edale and in 2004 reached the final of the Young Musician of the Year Award, having taught herself to fiddle sing.

Following a Masters degree in music, she released her debut album Night Visiting in 2007. One of its songs, Three Black Feathers, was nominated for a BBC Folk Award; it was Bella’s first original composition.

Her career highlights include singing solo in a sold-out Royal Albert Hall, forming an all-fiddle female group with Eliza Carthy and winning another Radio 2 Folk Award for her original song The Herring Girl.

Eliza’s concert in New Mills starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £13.30. Contact 01663 743461
