Derbyshire coronavirus death toll rises as 514 more fatalities are confirmed across England

Across England, a further 514 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died in hospitals, taking the number of confirmed deaths nationally to 16,786.

The new statistics from NHS England are for deaths which have been reported at hospitals across England as of Wednesday, April 22, at 5pm.

They do not include deaths in care homes or elsewhere in the community, and some hospital deaths take a while to be recorded in the official figures, meaning the true tally is likely to be considerably higher.
