Coronavirus a year on: this is how many deaths there have been in each High Peak area

Today marks a year since the first coronavirus lockdown began in England.

As coronavirus swept the country, and indeed the world, Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on March 23 to announce an immediate stay at home order.

Now, 12 months on, the Office for National Statistics has released data showing the number of deaths due to covid-19 that were registered between March 2020 and February 2021.

Data is broken down into districts, showing in the High Peak, the area with the highest percentage of fatalities was New Mills East and Hayfield where 25 covid-related deaths made up 27 per cent of the 94 total deaths.
